Summer Term

06.04.2022

Dear students,
A warm welcome to the summer term!

We are writing to you to inform you about the current regulations and plans for the summer semester at the Department for Statistics and to provide you with at least some planning security.

Even though there is still a lot of uncertainty about the pandemic situation, our Department has a clear decision to return mainly to face-to-face teaching whenever it is possible and makes sense from a didactic point of view.

In particular, this means that we rely on your presence at the university for regular participation in the study programme. Moreover, it is planned that all exams at the end of the summer term will again be held in the presence. Please contact us immediately if you can't come to Munich for reasons beyond your responsibility.

We all look forward to seeing you in person again. All the best for the remaining exams and a successful summer semester!

On behalf of the Department of Statistics

Thomas Augustin (Dean of Studies),

Bernd Bischl (Head of Department)

Volker Schmid (Head of the Board of Examiners)

PS. Here are two of the most important rules concerning Covid measures; for more details, please consult the official website https://www.lmu.de/en/about-lmu/information-regarding-the-coronavirus/index.html .

  • All general access restrictions will be eliminated; specifically, 3G verification will no longer be required.
  • The requirement to wear a mask will be retained to the extent last in effect. This means, in particular, that wearing FF2 masks is mandatory in all LMU buildings. During lectures/exams, the mask obligation does not apply as long as a minimum distance of 1.5 m to other persons is reliably maintained,
